goAML reporting software for Uganda's accountable persons.
Schema-valid suspicious and large cash transaction reports for the Financial Intelligence Authority's goAML portal, validated against the live schema and business rules before they leave your building, with an immutable record of every filing.
Built for the Financial Intelligence Authority's goAML portal.
The Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2013 (now Cap. 118), the 2015 Regulations and the FIA's guidelines set the reporting clock. Each step maps to the part of the goAML platform that handles it.
Report cash transactions above UGX 20 million
Cash and monetary transactions above 1,000 currency points are detected in any currency and assembled for filing, with one person's same-day transactions aggregated, so the threshold is never checked by eye in a spreadsheet.
File STRs within two working days of forming suspicion
Parties, accounts and narrative are compiled in one workspace, so the MLRO reviews a complete report rather than assembling one against the FIA's two-working-day clock and its August 2024 alert and investigation timelines.
File XML that the FIA's goAML portal accepts
CTR and STR XML is generated automatically and conforms to the FIA's current goAML XSD version. We maintain each deployment as schema versions change, so nobody hand-builds XML or keeps a macro alive against a moving schema.
Fix errors before the FIU sees them
Every report is validated against the live goAML XSD and business rules before submission, with errors deep-linked to the field, so a rejection does not start the FIA's clock running against you.
Keep records for at least 10 years and show the examiner
An immutable record of every report, amendment and filing — who filed what, and when — exportable for examinations.
This maps software capability to reporting duties; it is not legal advice. For registration and filing mechanics, see the Uganda FIA goAML reporting guide.
Frequently asked questions.
Does the software work with the FIA's goAML portal?
Yes. Each deployment is configured to the FIA's current goAML XSD, and we maintain it as schema versions change so your reports stay valid. Every file is validated against the schema and business rules before it is submitted.
What is the STR deadline in Uganda?
Without delay and not later than two working days from the date the suspicion was formed, regardless of the amount and including attempted transactions, under section 9(2) of the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2013 as amended (cited by the FIA as section 10 of Cap. 118). The FIA's August 2024 guidelines add earlier clocks: alerts opened within three working days and investigations completed within ten.
Which cash transactions must be reported in Uganda?
Cash and monetary transactions exceeding 1,000 currency points, which is UGX 20 million, in Uganda shillings or foreign currency. Several transactions by or for the same person in one day are aggregated. The Act says "exceeding" while the 2015 Regulations say "equivalent to or exceeding", so treat UGX 20 million and above as reportable.
Where is the FIA's goAML portal?
The Financial Intelligence Authority's goAML production portal is at goaml.fia.go.ug. Creodata is not the FIA and does not run the portal: registration on it is your institution's own step, and our software prepares and validates the reports you submit there.
How long does deployment take?
Typically six to eight weeks from kickoff to your first live submission, depending on the number and complexity of the data sources we connect.
Where is our data hosted?
Every customer runs single-tenant in its own Azure tenancy, so your transaction and customer data is never co-mingled with another reporting entity's. There is no Azure region in Uganda; if the data has to stay in your own data centre, ask us about on-premises deployment.
