goAML reporting software · Kenya

goAML reporting software for Kenya's reporting institutions.

Schema-valid suspicious and cash transaction reports for the Financial Reporting Centre's goAML portal, validated against the live schema and business rules before they leave your building, with an immutable record of every filing.

Kenya reporting fit

Built for the Financial Reporting Centre's goAML portal.

The Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act (POCAMLA), the POCAML Regulations, 2023 and the FRC's circulars set the reporting clock. Each step maps to the part of the goAML platform that handles it.

Report cash transactions of USD 15,000 or more

Cash transactions of USD 15,000 or more, in shillings or any other currency, are detected and assembled for filing by the Friday of that week, so the threshold is never checked by eye in a spreadsheet.

CTR threshold automation

File STRs within two days after the suspicion arose

Parties, accounts and narrative are compiled in one workspace, so the MLRO reviews a complete report rather than assembling one against the FRC's two-day clock.

STR drafting workspace

File XML that the FRC's goAML portal accepts

CTR and STR XML is generated automatically and conforms to the FRC's current goAML XSD version. We maintain each deployment as schema versions change, so nobody hand-builds XML or keeps a macro alive against a moving schema.

Schema-valid XML generation

Fix errors before the FIU sees them

Every report is validated against the live goAML XSD and business rules before submission, with errors deep-linked to the field, so a rejection does not start the FRC's clock running against you.

Pre-submission validation

Keep records for at least seven years and show the examiner

An immutable record of every report, amendment and filing — who filed what, and when — exportable for examinations.

Regulator-ready audit trail

This maps software capability to reporting duties; it is not legal advice. For registration and filing mechanics, see the Kenya FRC goAML reporting guide.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Does the software work with the FRC's goAML portal?

Yes. Each deployment is configured to the FRC's current goAML XSD, and we maintain it as schema versions change so your reports stay valid. Every file is validated against the schema and business rules before it is submitted.

What is the STR deadline in Kenya?

Within two days after the suspicion arose, under section 44(2) of the Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act (POCAMLA) as amended in 2023 and regulation 38(1) of the POCAML Regulations, 2023. The duty covers attempted transactions too. Before 15 September 2023 the deadline was seven days from the transaction, so older guidance may still show seven days.

Which cash transactions must be reported to the FRC?

All cash transactions of USD 15,000 or more, or the equivalent in any other currency, whether or not they look suspicious, under section 44(6) of POCAMLA and regulation 40(1) of the 2023 Regulations. Reports are due by the Friday of the week in which the transaction took place (regulation 40(3)(c); FRC Circular No. 4 of 2023). Several same-day cash transactions below the threshold in a single account are not added together for a cash report, but the FRC expects you to look at why and file an STR if the pattern is suspicious.

Where is the FRC's goAML portal?

The Financial Reporting Centre's goAML production portal is at goaml.frc.go.ke. Creodata is not the FRC and does not run the portal: registration on it is your institution's own step, and our software prepares and validates the reports you submit there.

How long does deployment take?

Typically six to eight weeks from kickoff to your first live submission, depending on the number and complexity of the data sources we connect.

Where is our data hosted?

Every customer runs single-tenant in its own Azure tenancy, so your transaction and customer data is never co-mingled with another reporting entity's. There is no Azure region in Kenya; if the data has to stay in your own data centre, ask us about on-premises deployment.
