Implementing goAML, or using another system
Some FIUs are moving to goAML, and some neighbours of goAML countries use a system of their own. Check with the FIU before you plan your reporting around either.

A country is listed as confirmed only when its financial intelligence unit, or another official body, says it uses goAML, or when its goAML portal is live on an official domain. Hosts are shown as text rather than links, because an FIU's site is the place to check them.
Countries whose FIU does not say publicly which system it uses are left out, even where goAML use is reported elsewhere, so treat the list as a floor, not a census.

Which countries use goAML?
We have confirmed 50 financial intelligence units that use goAML, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Zambia, the UAE, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand. UNODC, which builds goAML, says over 70 member states use it but does not publish a list.
Which African countries use goAML?
We have confirmed 16 in sub-Saharan Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Somalia, Mauritius, Seychelles, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Angola, Nigeria and Ghana) and three in North Africa (Egypt, Libya and Tunisia). Côte d'Ivoire and Madagascar are implementing goAML.
Which Middle East countries use goAML?
The UAE, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan and Egypt, among the FIUs we have confirmed. Qatar uses its own reporting portal, Ekhtar.
Is goAML the same in every country?
The platform is the same, but each FIU configures its own report types, lookup tables, validation rules and schema version. A file built for one FIU's goAML will not necessarily pass another's, so reporting software has to be configured for each FIU you report to.
How do I register on goAML?
Through your FIU's goAML portal, as a reporting entity or organisation, before you file your first report. Some FIUs register sectors through a supervisor instead: in the UAE, for example, DNFBPs register through the Ministry of Economy & Tourism. Our country filing guides set out each FIU's steps.
