Transaction monitoring software that catches what matters and proves every rule change.
A rule engine running in batch and streaming, with typology-aligned starter rules, a back-test harness, a tuning lab and versioned promotion, so a rule change is tested and traceable before it fires in production. Alerts flow straight into case management, and threshold reports go to your financial intelligence unit through goAML.
Inside the module.
Batch and streaming, on one rule engine
A rule engine with its own rule language, running on overnight batches and on streaming transactions alike, so real-time channels and end-of-day files are monitored by the same rules.
Typology-aligned starter rules
A starter pack of rules and a typology library aligned with common money-laundering patterns, to switch on and tune rather than write from scratch.
Back-testing and a tuning lab
Run a new or changed rule over historical data before it goes live, compare alert volumes and outcomes, and promote it as a new version, with the old one kept for audit.
Data feeds that fail loudly
REST, SFTP, Kafka, change data capture and ISO 20022 connectors, with idempotency, replay and a dead-letter queue, so a failed overnight feed never becomes a silent monitoring gap. A data-requirements service shows which rules have the attributes they need to fire.
Explainable AI scores, if you want them
Machine-learning scores run beside the rules with their top three reasons (SHAP), a confidence level and a human decision on every one; models are activated under four-eyes approval and can be switched off in one click.
From alert to report in one workspace
Alerts become owned cases with deadlines, and suspicious and threshold reports move through a draft, review, approve and submit lifecycle to the FIU through goAML.
Cash and threshold reporting, country by country
Monitoring feeds two reporting duties: suspicious transaction reports, and in most countries a report on cash or other transactions above a line. The lines differ, so the rules have to be configured per country.
| Country | What must be reported | When |
|---|---|---|
| Kenya | Cash transactions of USD 15,000 or more, or the equivalent | By the Friday of the week the transaction took place |
| Uganda | Cash and monetary transactions above UGX 20 million, one person's same-day transactions added together | No filing period prescribed; confirm with the FIA |
| Tanzania | Cash of USD 10,000 or more; electronic funds transfers of USD 1,000 or more | Within 5 working days |
| Zambia | Currency transactions at or above the Kwacha equivalent of USD 10,000, single or linked | Within 3 working days |
| Rwanda | Cash or value transfers of FRW 10 million or more for occasional customers, with other lines for casinos, dealers in precious metals and stones, and wire transfers | Within 2 working days |
| Nigeria | Single transactions above ₦5 million (individuals) or ₦10 million (companies) | Within 7 days |
| South Africa | Cash above R49,999.99 paid or received | Within 3 days, excluding weekends and public holidays |
| UAE | Dealers' and real estate cash transactions of AED 55,000 or more (DPMSR, REAR) | On goAML |

Frequently asked questions.
What is AML transaction monitoring software?
Software that runs rules and models over customer transactions to raise alerts on patterns that may indicate money laundering or terrorist financing, such as structuring below a reporting line, rapid movement of funds or activity out of line with the customer's profile. Analysts then investigate the alerts and report suspicious ones to the financial intelligence unit.
Does it monitor in real time?
Yes. The same rule engine runs on streaming transactions and on batch files, so real-time channels and end-of-day loads are covered by the same rules.
How do we reduce false positives?
By tuning rules on evidence: back-test each change on historical data, compare alert volumes and outcomes, and promote it as a new version. The tuning lab and versioned promotion keep a record of why each threshold is what it is.
Does it cover mobile money and other channels?
It monitors whatever transaction data you feed it: connectors take data over REST, SFTP, Kafka, change data capture or ISO 20022, so bank transfers, cards, cash, mobile money and wallet transactions can all be covered once their feeds are connected.
Can we start with monitoring alone?
Transaction monitoring is part of the Growth tier, with STR/CTR reporting and ingestion connectors; the Starter tier covers screening, risk rating and case basics. Modules switch on per tenant, so adding monitoring later does not mean starting again.
